Hi there! I’m Emily and I am a registered psychologist who is passionate about providing my clients with a safe, friendly and non-judgemental space. I work hard to build a strong rapport with my clients, and enjoy working collaboratively to develop personalised tools and strategies to assist them. I draw upon a strengths-based approach and use creative measures such as music and art, to make therapy fun and engaging for young people. |
I have previously worked with children and families experiencing mental health issues, family violence, trauma, addiction and behavioural challenges. Throughout my time as a psychologist, I have enjoyed working in private practice with children, adolescents and adults with a wide range of presenting issues. I utilise evidence-based treatments in my practise including Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) and Eye Movement Desensitisation Reprocessing (EMDR) Therapy.
Outside of work I enjoy playing piano, reading, spending time with friends and family, and walking my cheeky border collie, Winnie.
I have always had a special interest in working with people who have experienced trauma. I am passionate about supporting clients to explore and understand the psychological and physiological impact of trauma on the mind and body. I enjoy helping my clients to make sense of their own personal experiences, and learn to feel safe again.
